Do you tend to procrastinate?
You know that feeling when something needs to be done, but somehow… “Not now. I’ll do it tomorrow. Or maybe the day after tomorrow. Or perhaps never?”
Yes, I’m talking about putting things off. It seems like such a small rebellion, a bit like an innocent sabotage.
But today I have something for you that might change that – without struggle, without forcing yourself, just with a bit of… beauty.
I have something that can help. An affirmation. A powerful affirmation against procrastination. But before we get to it, I’d like you to do something important.
First, feel what it’s like to procrastinate.
Stop for a moment and feel – how much procrastination is there within you? Don’t judge it, don’t fight it, just notice. I am procrastinating. Just feel it… What happens in your body when you put things off? What emotions, what tensions? What does it look like, sound like..? Give yourself a moment of silence for this procrastination…
And now – instead of fighting this procrastination, instead of trying to “fix” yourself – I invite you to repeat the active affirmation to stop procrastinating. It doesn’t force, doesn’t punish, but opens up space for something new, gentle, and light.
So take a deep breath and feel this affirmation:
“I choose to live beautifully. I choose to feel beautiful. I choose to have fun, because life is fun. I am a miracle and I choose miracles. Everything in me is beautiful, and I allow myself to do nothing – and this is beautiful. And I allow myself to live and act – and this is beautiful.”
Sounds light, right?
Because that’s exactly what it is all about. It’s not about compulsion, not about discipline. It’s about love, joy, and choice. That’s how it’s supposed to be – beautiful, light, gentle. No pressure.
Think about it… When you feel good, when you are happy, everything somehow falls into place. Really! And suddenly the dishes somehow pop into the dishwasher, the floor gets vacuumed by itself, and emails are somehow easier to write. Your energy lifts without you even noticing.
It’s not magic. It’s joy. And it’s love for yourself and for life.
And that’s the power of an affirmation for overcoming procrastination based on love instead of pressure.
So don’t act out of compulsion – act in joy and love.
You see, the whole secret lies in the choice. You don’t have to force yourself anymore. You don’t have to rush. On the contrary – when you rush, you often lose the meaning, lose the idea, lose yourself. And life doesn’t have to be a sprint. It can be a dance.
What’s behind the habit? Let’s find out why we procrastinate…
It’s not putting things off that is the problem. It’s the lack of acceptance that something in your life doesn’t serve you.
Sometimes we procrastinate because we don’t want to go into something that doesn’t make us happy. Because we are lost. Because what’s in front of us simply doesn’t resonate with our heart. And that’s OK.
Trust yourself. Make room for what comes. Maybe you didn’t do something today – and that’s perfectly fine! Maybe it wasn’t meant to happen yet. Maybe you need one more deep breath. And a moment of fun before you do anything.
Or maybe… procrastination is an important message?
Think about it: maybe procrastination isn’t your enemy? Maybe it’s a signal that you’re heading towards something that doesn’t bring you joy? That you’re trying to force yourself into something that no longer serves you?
When you feel lost – you procrastinate. But when you feel joy, childlike lightness, meaning – you start doing it. When you approach life with a smile, with fun – suddenly you start to act. And if you don’t – you find someone who will do it for you, and you can focus on what really brings you joy. And everything will fall into place.
Not everything has to be done!
Because sometimes the greatest miracle is… to do nothing. Yes, exactly. To lie down and stare at the ceiling. To sit with tea and with yourself. That is beautiful too. And it’s needed too.
Allow yourself to make yourself happy. Allow yourself to do nothing sometimes. Allow yourself to do things with love for yourself. Allow yourself to relax. Because everything, really everything, is perfect just as it is.
And allow yourself to feel freedom. Without perfectionism. Without stressing out. You don’t have to do everything perfectly. But you need to do it lightly, with a smile. To have fun. To delight yourself. And feel that even the simplest thing, but done with love, is a miracle.
Because when you let go, suddenly you’ll notice… things get done. Or they become unimportant. And one and the other — that’s freedom.
Trust and feel the freedom in knowing that even if you do nothing today, the world won’t collapse. Maybe this is what will make you do something tomorrow with such lightness that it will surprise you.
So if you think that today something is “not done” again — smile. Maybe this is also part of your journey to a beautiful life.
In the end, the most powerful ways to cure procrastination don’t start with harsh schedules or productivity hacks. They start with you. With how you feel. With what you believe is possible.
So the next time procrastination creeps in, try something different. Don’t fight it. Talk to it. Breathe with it. Give it space.
And repeat your affirmation to overcome procrastination.
